Kinda belated I know, but I haven't thanked either Tom or Soph publically for both their uber-cool parties, so there it is!
Well in the absence of anything else to talk about, I'll go with my recent work experience, er.. experiences.
I started on Tuesday at the Genomics department of Oxford Uni in Headington. I'm supposedly doing some sort of work in the field of protein (try saying that with an Indian accent, it's quite funny) expression, but I can't say as I really understand what's going on. Oh, and when our supervisor (who looks far too much like Mr Brewis to be doing with) can't think of anything for us to do, we just sit and read. Yes that's right, we read some more incomprehensible crap about the work we don't understand! Therefore it's not the most fun in the world, but hey, it's experience (won't UCAS be pleased).
On the subject of lookalikes, we also have our resident Matt Brack (famous for the books in the common room, the binbags...), June Sarpong, and also a dude that looks like one of the guys from the last pop idol (remember that one with the REALLY bad taste in glasses?). That's one way I've kept myself amused...:P
Ooh, to everyone who does chemistry : next term, you HAVE to try and convince your respective teachers to get a Vortex machine. You can spend a surprisingly long time just standing with your hand on the thing, spinning round/vibrating really quickly until you can't actually move your hand any more. So much fun. Also some of the virucidal stuff "Virkon" - really nice pink colour, smells kind of like a cross between sherbet and death, and is apparently "very effective at disinfecting HIV and AIDS". Now I might be wrong but isn't HIV meant to be a really wimpy virus? Not to mention the fact that AIDS doesn't actually physically exist.
Worst smell in the lab: e. coli mixed with yeast extract solution. (who DOES like marmite anyway?)
Phew that was a long post - sorry about that. OK other jungle guys, that's me done, so now it's over to you!
(I'm serious)

Thanks Cat and Zeebs for a very cool party indeed! Sorry it didn't really have the hyouge sort of horror theme it was meant to though... But to all those who didn't come swimming, well..you should have, if only to see the swamp monster rising from the depths. Scary stuff indeed.
I don't know how long it'll take to get the image of Polly and potatoes out of our heads, but we'll try. By god, we will try. (As for you Tom and your head cancer, now that was just plain rancid.)
Anyway, I hope all who are going have a fantabulous time at the Killers, and I'll see nearly all of you I hope at Tom's!
Have a good last week at school, girls.
