Just a quick round up of the rest of the week. Last Sunday (as in, a week and a day ago) a load of us went into town to film some AMAZING stuff for Hal, during which time Polly managed to severely injure my eye. And no, I did not put ice cream on her first. Tuesday was more filming at O-J's, with music videos aplenty.
Later on, we watched a coupla films (Hal's choice) - Easy Rider and Assault on Precinct 13 (the original). Oh, and some baby videos of O-J (awwwwww. But enough with the Carol-singing!). And I had a really cool, long chat with Hal about- well, wouldn't you like to know. It's moments like that that I'm really gonna miss with you, Hal.
Wednesday... I wandered round town for several hours on m'own, and decided to pay the Ashmolean a visit on the recommendation of les jumeaux. Cat, I did indeed pay the Chinese bit ('Mystery of the Open Space' I think it's called) a visit but... I didn't really get it. So instead I went and spent about 45 mins in the Egyptian exhibit, texting Polly all the while to clear our cover story for being at O-J's the previous day. After more wandering about in Borders, Debenhams and the like, I met Freds and James and we went to see the Fantastic 4. I think it was a bit of a letdown - as James pointed out, they did spend quite a lot of the film showing how they attained their superpowers, and they never really used them. And oh the corniness of Dr von Doom's lines. Anyway, apres ca it was time for the guys' night out, in the Mitre. We had some drinks in the bar area before going on to our meal in the restaurant, and it was really nice. We finally finished off the evening in Anuba, where four of the guys downed two shots of Sambuca each, while the rest of us watched Eurotrip (starring Dawn from Buffy) projected on the wall. Random. Naked.
For Friday night's pursuits, I'll simply direct you over to Hal's blog. I'll just pick up at the end of the evening, when I walked O-J home to pick up my 'Summer compilation' CD, and spent the rest of the evening listening to Freddie sleeptalking in conversation with himself about, well... never mind. The human game should so be released tho.
On a final note, it's reassuring that no matter how much some of you guys seem to be enjoying your holidays, you always find time to leave comments from afar (O-J, James). There's still hope for Hal, as he becomes the furthest away of us all. We'll miss you a lot Hal. But it's not goodbye, as they say - merely farewell.

One thing I forgot to do was to draw your attention to the new blog in town: The Review Crew (also linked to under the Links section). Fairly obviously, it's an open collection of reviews of films, books and CDs. Enjoy!
Monday, August 8
Wow - almost a month has passed, along with 5 people's birthdays. I really have been away for a long time. Which is a good thing really, cos I finally feel like I've actually been doing something - a fact indicated by the absence of time spent typing about my boredom.
Right. First up, happy birthday to me, Soph, Tom, O-J and my brother. Thank you Cat and Zeebee for the amazingly cool surprise party for me on the 19th, and to everyone who came - sorry Sam and James for getting a little antsy just beforehand when you were trying to hurry me up..! Sophie, your party was far, far better than the one at Escape, purely because I was there and was totally the best punter around for miles. That was a really really cool day: buying my first legal drink; walking through all manner of crap on the "shortcut" to Polly's house via Wilson College; worrying about getting caught with my trousers down (literally) behind the sofa by Poll's mum; walking down Banbury Road with a bottle of Pimm's... Good times indeed.
I've now completed what we estimate at 10 hours of painting Tom's flat (so that he can totally live there and have parties in Uni holidays), getting us halfway to paying for our train tickets to France, so Ellen tells us. It is worrying how much time we seemed to spend playing Worms world party tho... But Tom did give me a very cool 'present' - an English 'faces' T-shirt! Even if it did come via the guy whose porn they found down the side of the bed in the flat.
In between times have been squeezed in many visits to the village of Kidlington and, several films, late nights and cocktails later (Bloody Mary anyone?), much feverish yearbook activity - y'all will be pleased to hear it is now safely at the printers, and you could not imagine how glad I am.
The other day I attended a party in Summertown to celebrate the going away (harsh, I thought) of Lizzie M and Namrata to India - what's with all these crazy people? Anyway, this was also immensely cool, as we had the use of our very own punt :D. O-J, we are DEFINITELY going back to investigate that shed. Yeah, be quiet you two. We also played pretty much the whole of Speak for Yourself so hopefully that will have opened people's eyes/ears to the wonder that it is.
Well I'm sure I've missed crapfuls out, but that's me done for today.
Sunshine, lollipops and...
